Polaris ranger won't start.

Jun 4, 2020 · Hey, my 2020 ranger crew 1000 would not start today. It was fine yesterday but I got on it today and when I turned the key the instrument panel started flashed and when I turned the key it just clicks. I checked the battery and it had alot of corrosion on the positive terminal. I cleaned it all up and put it back in but still just clicking noise. 800 dies then won't start Talked to 3 guys at my dealer today, including the service manager. They all said they have never heard of any vaporlock or engine compartment heat problems on a polaris ranger ever. ARE YOU KIDDING ME !!! When did you purchase the unit, since you state it only has 10hrs on it. Did something happen to possibly cause this issue, referring to you riding conditions and use of the Ranger. Give us a little more information.

You need to check the crank position sensor. Passenger side down at the motor. Could be a bad sensor....or chafed wires. Follow the wire harness up. 800's had horrible wire harness issues. Otb powersports for any replacements. Like. P. Patred34 Discussion starter.

My 2020 Ranger 500 is having electrical issues. I've put 3 new batteries in it and changed the solenoid twice. When the key is switched on the fuel pump comes on. Battery is full charged. Dash lights up showing voltage at 12.5vdc. Still all I get is a click. I can get it to start with the battery charger hooked up.

More often than not there is a dirty/corroded connection somewhere. The starter relay is right beside the battery under the left fender so that's why the clicking comes from that direction. If you can't find anything obvious after performing a thorough search, and it is definitely getting fuel and spark, I'd probably do a compression test to make sure something major didn't happen during that backfire (bent valve, etc...). I've found that if I push the pedal faster (not a full stomp but a quick, firm motion) it starts just fine. Cant remember the exact hours / miles Lets say 200 Hrs Maybe 1000 miles. 1) It will NOT start without holding the gas pedal to the floor. 2) Wont idle in gear, wont hardly even go in gear. If it does, you have to hit the gas to keep it from dying.

I sprayed ether in the intake and it started and ran for about 1 second. Because its hard to drive and spray started fluid at the same time I need to go further.
